Henriette Longstay »Circular Living« Apartments represent a new way of temporary living: conscious, high-quality and fit for the future. Here, relaxed urban living, healthy materials and the principles of the circular economy come together to create a holistic living concept in the heart of Vienna. Simply put: Circular Living.
Circular Living = Circular Economy + Healthy Living + Comfort
Our apartments are more than just furnished rooms. They conserve resources, promote a healthy indoor climate and are durable, comfortable and stylish. The focus is not on short-term trends, but on quality that has a lasting impact – on people and the environment.
From Comfort to Deluxe
Healthy living, day by day
The long-stay apartments were extensively renovated in 2025 in accordance with our Circular Living Standard – inspired by the principles of circular economy and cradle-to-cradle. For interior construction and furnishings, this means:
a careful selection of environmentally friendly and resource-efficient materials,
materials that are largely of natural origin, low-emission, and free from harmful substances,
materials that, where possible, carry Cradle-to-Cradle or other environmental certifications,
materials that can be separated at the end of their life cycle and returned to the material cycle as raw resources,
the use of upcycled and reused components.
This keeps valuable resources in circulation and reduces the impact on people and the environment—during production, use, and beyond.
The result: a noticeably pleasant indoor climate and a healthy living environment – particularly important for longer stays.
“It’s a bit like it used to be at grandma’s, nothing was ever thrown away. But thanks to new technologies, we can now transform old materials into truly innovative building materials and furniture. That's exciting!”
Verena Brandtner-Pastuszyn

What does circular economy mean in the context of housing and living?
Beyond the many small and large choices that shape our daily life, circular economy in housing is mainly about how apartments are built and furnished, and which building materials, products, and furniture are used. The basic principles are:
Zero Waste: Products and materials are used, reused, repaired, and recycled for as long as possible. No waste, no compromises.
Cradle-to-Cradle: Products and materials are designed so that at the end of their life they do not become waste, but serve as raw materials for new products – biological or technical. This requires thoughtful design and the use of pure, separable materials.
Recycling und Upcycling: The materials largely retain their original quality or even gain value: something better is created from something old.
Healthy Living: The materials are free of harmful substances and largely of natural origin. They do not release any harmful residues into the indoor air, thus ensuring a better indoor climate and greater well-being.
What is Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C)?
Cradle-to-Cradle literally means “from cradle to cradle” – in other words, a closed life cycle for products. In contrast to the conventional “cradle to grave” approach, where things become waste after use, C2C aims for everything to be reused.
A Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) certification confirms that a product has been developed and tested according to circular economy principles. The certificates are awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
The institute tests products according to strict criteria in five areas:
Material health – free from harmful substances, promoting healthy living
Reusability – recyclability of materials
Energy & climate – production using renewable energy
Water & resources – efficient and careful use of resources
Social fairness – compliance with ethical manufacturing standards
Testing is carried out independently by accredited auditors. Products that meet the requirements receive a bronze, silver, gold or platinum certificate. For example, both the bathroom tiles and the wall paint used in the long-term apartments carry a Silver C2C label, while the furniture panels carry a Bronze label.
