 Living on Praterstraße
in Vienna Leopoldstadt

A great place to live, work, and enjoy life

What Berliners call their Kiez, Viennese call their Grätzel – the area where you mostly move around on foot, live, shop, and maybe even work. Simply the area where you feel a sense of belonging.

Your "temporary Grätzel": Vienna’s 2nd District, Leopoldstadt

Centered naturally on Praterstrasse, but also including the surrounding quarters: Czerninviertel, Afrikaner- and Rotensternviertel, stretching to Karmeliterviertel. The Prater – giving the area its name – is part of it, as is the Danube Canal; two places to relax that couldn’t be more different!

Praterstraße & 2. District – Urban Living in Vienna

The Henriette Longstay Apartments are located in the heart of Vienna’s vibrant 2nd District, on the historic Praterstrasse. This roughly one-kilomettre-long tree-lined avenue is a central business and residential street that connects Vienna's city centre, the Danube Canal and the Prater.

  • With the bicycle “highway” above and underground line U1 directly below, Praterstraße is not only an important axis of traffic, but also a lively residential area. Apartments, shops, supermarkets, cafés and restaurants line the street, many with outdoor seating areas.
  • In the surrounding area, you’ll also find many other important everyday facilities: doctors, schools and educational institutions, religious sites, a public library, pharmacies, and more.
  • Thanks to its close proximity to the Danube Canal, the Green Prater, and the expansive Augarten Park, there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking or cycling.
